The collection comprises 580 original drawings, 401 blueprints, and 6 rendered photographs documenting 147 buildings and projects designed between 1880 and 1938 by Wilson Eyre, his predecessor James Peacock Sims (1849-1882), and later John Gilbert McIlvaine (1880-1939) - his partner in the firm of Wilson Eyre & McIlvaine (fl. 1911-1939). The most significant body of material in the collection are Eyre's magnificent large-scale renderings and sketches in watercolor, charcoal, and pastel, including those for country residences, townhouses, apartment houses, gardens, commercial buildings, institutional buildings, architectural details, posters, and travel sketches.
